Big West Electrical will be closing its storefront located at #644 16th ST SW. This follows a restructure of the company to focus exclusively on Gemstone Smart Lighting.

With the closure of the storefront Big West Electrical will no longer be selling electrical supplies or doing any service work.

It is with mixed feelings that we have decided to discontinue our retail and electrical service divisions of our company. We would like to thank everyone who supported us over the years, and we hope that we left a lasting impression. This does not mean that we are closing our doors, rather we are refocusing our business to better meet the needs of both our customers and ourselves. Moving forward we are going to be exclusively focused on gemstone lights outdoor lighting systems, due to the high demand. This has us excited about our bright future! We are pleased to announce that Big West Electrical was the recipient of the "Friend of 4-H" award at the 2021 Medicine Hat 4-H District Show and Sale! This award has been presented to Big West Electrical for our past and continued support to the Cactus County 4-H clubs.

Our owners, Cherie and Randy Schmidt, were both previously members of 4-H along with their children. Although no longer directly involved in club activities, they still continue to give back to current 4-H members. Big West Electrical sponsors both club and achievement day awards. In addition to award sponsorship, Big West Electrical also purchases 4-H beef, hog, and sheep projects from the club members.
